Volumous rear additions connecting the indoor and outdoor spaces on a sloping site.

Thoughtful addressing of a sloping site and resolving a poor connection of existing house to the south-facing, rear yard. The lower ground floor addition provides a generous kitchen, living and dining space. Which has been stepped down from the original floor level to connect with rear yard. The roof is sloped up towards the north, allowing winter sunlight into these spaces, creating a dynamic interior volume and minimizing overshadowing of the yard. The upper floor master suite is situated over the lounge room, creating a more intimate space below. While the master bedroom enjoys a tranquil perspective overlooking the pool.
